$1,000 Webisode Contest
Calling all middle-schoolers, teenagers, and young adults:
One of the supporters of our project is Don Tapscott who’s the author of the book Grown Up Digital, a source of inspiration for our work here in Los Alamos. Amazingly, he has agreed to sponsor a contest with the grand prize being a thousand bucks. Here are the simplified rules:
1. Create a 90-120-second video or multimedia story in the spirit of a soap opera (since we’re “The Young and the Wireless,” we’re looking for stories about relationships–how technology helps you maintain your relationships or how it gets in the way, the relationship you have with technology or it has with you). Have fun with this–nothing is too absurd. Just be sure your point is clear, relevant, and insightful in some way.
2. Your video must be in “.mov” format (we also encourage HD) and can be submitted to to me or Melissa (the project representatives who will be here in Los Alamos until the 30th and of May and then back again the first week of July). Or can be sent to us via our website. (Upload feature coming soon)
3. If you don’t have equipment, contact us. We have a basic camera you can borrow.
4. The videos will be screened, and the posted to our website.
5. The best video nationally will win $1000 and has the potential to be mentioned in Tapscott’s next book along with the News21 program.
We’d love it if someone from Los Alamos was determined the winner of this contest! So if you’re interested, GO FOR IT!
All videos will posted on http://www.youtube.com/group/youngandthewireless.
